मानवी शरीरावर कीटकनाशकाचे दीर्घकालीन दुष्परिणाम होतात. यामध्ये डोळ्याचे आजार, केस गळणे ,डोके दुखणे, बहिरेपणा, त्वचा विकार,दमा व श्वसनाचे विकार होऊ शकतात. यामुळे शेतकऱ्यांनी फवारणी करताना शक्यतो मुदत संपलेली औषधी वापरू नयेत. वाऱ्याचा वेग जेव्हा कमी असेल तेव्हा फवारणी करावी. फवारणी करताना फवारणी किटचा वापर करणे योग्य राहील. फवारणीच्या वेळेस धूम्रपान करणे टाळावे. आपल्या शरीराच्या हातापायावर जखम असेल तर फवारणी करू नये. कीटकनाशकामुळे डोळ्यात आग होऊ शकते तसेच डोळे जळजळणे ,खाजवणे, डोळे लाल होणे, मळमळणे व उलटी होणे असे कीटकनाशकाचे दुष्परिणाम होऊ शकतात.
कीटकनाशकामुळे केस पांढरे होणे,पोटाचे आजार,मंद मुले जन्माला येणे,सिझरिंग, नपुंसकत्व येऊ शकते. यामुळे शेतकऱ्यांनी फवारणी झाल्यानंतर साबणाने हातपाय स्वच्छ धुणे अत्यावश्यक आहे.
